ATEX Zone 2, Explosion Proof Split Unit Air Conditioners

Atexxo Manufacturing BV converted Daikin to an explosion safe ATEX split air conditioner unit, suited for Zone 2 hazardous areas.  The units have integrated heat pump function for both heating and cooling. The ATEX Air Conditioners and ATEX / EAC-EX split units are equipped with European approved R-410A refrigerant. ATEX Zone 2 is the European equivalent for US, NEC Class 1 Division 2 equipment. (C1D2)
Conversion to ATEX explosion safe is in line with Atexxo’s philosophy of providing excellent explosion protection while maintaining as many features of the original product as possible. This makes the ATEX Air conditioners easy to install and operate.

The sets consist of an ATEX approved outdoor-, indoor unit and a remote control. Versions with heating and cooling capacity ranging from 2 kW to 33 kW are available (8.500 BTU/hr to 140.000 BTU/hr). Atexxo Manufacturing BV provides Explosion Safe conversion for other leading European HVAC products and brands on request, such as Carrier, Mitsubishi and Toshiba.

Intergraded anti-explosive protective measures

Picture 1 demonstrates some of the protective anti-explosion measures intergrated in Atexxo’s indoor unit. All modifications are according to safety standards, well documented and tested. Standard available from Daikin, other brands on request.
