The BIMED, ATEX Cable glands are intended for universal use covering all explosion protective techniques Ex-e, Ex-d, Ex-tb, Ex-tc, Ex-n. Suitable for operation in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21, and Zone 22 Areas.
All cable glands and accessories are unique to the market; triple certified, holding ATEX, IECEx and DNV-GL Marine Approval.
Important Selection for Cable Glands
- Protection type Ex-d, Ex-e or universal
- Cable type
– Normal non-armored cable e.g. with PVC or XLPE shell
– Armored cable, e.g. with SWA or SWB protective cover - Cable outside diameter (and inside diameter for armored cables)
- Threaded (e.g. ISO m20 or NTP 1/2) or through holes in the enclosure
- Base material of the housing/enclosure (this is an important feature because of galvanic corrosion)
Please call or email us and our engineers will assist you in selecting the right gland for your application.
Please select below the cable type you intend to use, please choose between armored and non-armored.
Cable glands are used in ATEX terminal boxes, control units, distribution panels and any other electric equipment that is used in an explosion hazardous environment. They are available for different cable types and housing/enclosure materials.
Benefits
- Non-armored cables Ex-e/Ex-d
- PVC cable
- XLPE cable
- Armored cables Ex-e/Ex-d
- SWA cable (steel wire armor)
- SWB cable (steel wire braid)
- STA cable (steel tape armor)
- Certified Ex-d, Ex-e and Ex-tb
- Suitable for operation in Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22
For non-armored cables
The ATEX cable glands can be used indoors and outdoors in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21, and Zone 22 hazardous areas. They are intended for use with armored or non-armored cables, providing a combined flameproof seal and environmental seal on the cable outer sheath. They are typically installed in metal Ex e enclosures or as safe cable entry for electrical ATEX equipment.
Compound glands are available on request. These glands are only used for Gas Group IIC applications and large (>2 litre) flameproof housings that are located in Zone 1.
